Health insurance coverage for hearing aids in Switzerland

Health insurance coverage for your hearing aids

Hearing aids purchased under the Auzen service are covered by social insurances. Owing to our low price policy, the financial contribution from OASI and DI helps cover most of the purchase price of your devices, with reimbursement of up to 85% of the purchase price.

DI criteria and reimbursement

Disability insurance (DI) concerns employed workers affected with an overall hearing loss of at least 20%. It entitles the employee to a flat-rate reimbursement of CHF 840.- for one hearing aid and CHF 1’650.- for 2 hearing aids.

If you choose a product from our Comfort line, the remaining cost to be paid will be:

  • CHF 150.- for one device
  • CHF 330.- for two devices.

If you choose a product from our Excellence line, the remaining cost to be paid will be:

  • CHF 550.- for one device
  • CHF 1’130.- for two devices

The request for DI can be renewed every 6 years when you want to change the device. If before the end of this period, the hearing aid is defective or your hearing loss has worsened, a request for early reimbursement may be made.

OASI criteria and reimbursement

OASI concerns retirees affected with an overall hearing loss of at least 35%. It entitles the employee to a flat-rate reimbursement of CHF 630.- for one hearing aid and CHF 1’237.- for 2 hearing aids.

If you choose a product from our Comfort line, the remaining cost to be paid will be:

  • CHF 360.- for one device
  • CHF 743.- for two devices

If you choose a product from our Excellence line, the remaining cost to be paid will be:

  • CHF 760.- for one device
  • CHF 1’543.- for two devices

The request for OASI can be renewed every 5 years when you want to change the device. If before the end of this period, the hearing aid is defective or your hearing loss has worsened, a request for early reimbursement may be made.

What are the steps to take?

In order to receive this health insurance coverage, you must first be examined by and ENT Expert who will determine the appropriateness of a hearing aid.

The ENT Expert will provide an expert report for the prescription of a hearing aid. He/She will send the request for coverage directly to the insured individual’s DI or OASI office.

Please note, you need to obtain a copy of the expert report from your ENT specialist (with the results of the hearing tests) to send to us.
