Resound Nexia MicroRIE 5 hearing aids offer improved speech understanding and sound quality. While Hearing in Noise and 360 All-Around technology is only available on the Nexia MicroRIE 9 model, users can benefit from noise reduction systems such as Wind Guard and Impulse Noise Reduction in three settings. Resound Nexia models feature the Microphone & Receiver-in-Ear (M&RIE) system. This feature adds an in-ear microphone to help capture sounds more naturally. Nexia MicroRIE 5 hearing aids offer 12 bands of customisation and advanced binaural sound management. ReSound Nexia microRIE 5, like all the Nexia models, features Tap to Connect, which allows users to answer calls by double-tapping on the hearing aid. Other valuable features include two settings of NoiseTracker II, which enhances speech over background noise. Synchronised Acceptance Manager and Synchronised SoftSwitching are features that optimise the gains of the hearing aid over time and manage when to apply directionality.

As part of the Nexia family, the ReSound Nexia micro RIE 5 features the innovative Bluetooth alternative, Auracast® streaming. This technology delivers a Low-Energy Bluetooth version that allows users to stream directly into the hearing aid with or without a smartphone. The technology also filters background noise, for example, overhead announcements. The Nexia family is MFI (made for iPhone). ReSound Nexia MicroRIE hearing aids are compatible with iPhone 11 or later models and iPad Pro. Users can use the iPad or iPhone to control the volume and programmes. The ReSound Nexia micro RIE 5 is also compatible with Android devices. The Nexia models also have several accessories that facilitate streaming, like Phone Clip + for clear phone calls and the TV streamer.
